to amphibious HQs have to be stacked with the HQ to be landed and get the special bonus movement?

I ask because this seriously reduces the assault power of the landing if they have to be stacked as this prevents two divisions from going ashore.

Hi, I convert the special forces units from on map to support units and then attach them to the amphibious HQs. This allows two divisions to stack with the amphibious HQ's.

Thanks.

Sounds like a plan to me.

How do I go about converting the on map units to a support unit?

Get them in the same hex as the HQ you want to them attached to, attach them to the HQ and hit "convert unit".

Thanks.

I figured that out eventually. It was somewhat hidden as it was embedded under a Multirole heading that was disabled until I stacked them with the HQ.

Thankfully, I was able to move a division out of the hex to allow the special forces unit to stack for the conversion and then move the division back into the hex without losing the prep points the division had accumulated.
