Minor bumps for France and AH

I propose a minor bump for France.
A detachment with full strength (representing Militia) in Lilee
In return, the Paris garrison won't mobilise for multi-player.
This will slightly delay Schlieffen.

In return,
Austria gets 2 full-strength militia units (detachments) on Czernowitz and Kolomea instead of their 2 half strength starting detachments. The Polish militia can be separately raised and the 3 Italian based militia will also remain as it is.
This helps to guard the extreme right flank of Austria when the Russians attack.

What do these 2 symbolise?
The old fortress in Maubenge for the French, which was a real speed bump for Kluck and Bulow
The difficult terrain for Brusilov on the Romanian border and lack of supplies + minor garrisons in Bukhowina.

Hi shri - Interesting suggestions. By their 2 half strength starting detachment, do you mean the two half strength AH detachments which start on Pola and Budapest?

What kind of forces did Austria-Hungary have defending Bukovina at the start of the war? My general understanding is that Russians captured Bukovina pretty easily and only got bogged down when they tried to push into the Carpathians proper.

Conrad the idiot throw the Austrians in a revolving door format. But then none of the other powers like France, Russia, Ottomans or Italy or Romania are penalised for their General Staff stupidities.

Hence, i proposed those 2 starting militia at Pola and Budapest at 5 strength can start at Czernowitz and Kolomea at full strength, Austria can entrench them making it quite difficult to break through for Russia on the extreme right flank.

France anyway gets that 8 strength garrison in Paris if Schlieffen is pushed, instead can get 10 strength in Lilee without trenches.

WW1 in 1914 was quite comical (if not for the human tragedy)
- Russia - manages to lose 500k invading East Prussia for minor gains and maybe 120-150k German casualties
-France - manages to lose over a million in 1914 in 2 months, half of it in futile frontal attacks as per Plant XVII
- Ottomans, manages to lose 100k in the Caucasus for literally a few miles of snowy hills
-Austria, futile attacks in Galicia and in Carpathians and Serbia, lost over a million men for no gains in 1914

Other comic-tragic tales -
-Italy, lost 11 battles on the Isonzo for less than 11 miles gains.
-Romania, declares war at a time when Austria is comatose and promptly loses 90% of its country and most of its army in a few months
