game crash out of ram

trying to start a new game 700 planets game 10 starting races game ran out of ram and crashed
i have 16gb of ram.
this didnt happen in previous versions. i could do 1000

Is this reproducible from a specific save? What version are you running?

Do you have a dxdiag file, sessionlog, and crashdumps? got another crash when clicking on update ship design. twice now have the game crashed in such critical state no crashdumps or logs generate

If you don't see crashdumps, please look into Windows Event Viewer -> click on Applications in the left column under the Windows Logs tab -> see if there are any entries for .NETRuntime around the same time as your crashes -> paste what you find here or send it to the email provided above.
