Yeh, me too. Much more challenge. Tho I think the Shakturi war declaration comes too soon. Maybe needs diplomacy to hold it off for a while. I did try but too high a negative rep.

I wonder if the shakturi will ever be a playable faction. Their ships are fire. They would probably be overpowered though, so some sort of disadvantage would need to be present, like instant war declarations from the other factions.

You can adjust that in game settings before you start - I haven't hit that point yet so it's good to know I should push back the start time to later.

I wonder if it would change the strength of Shakturi, because obviously they should be more powerful in the late game to keep the challenge.

I have it set as late in the game as possible. Thing is they arrive late game, but ramp up really quickly.
