My opponent and I are currently playing the full campiagn, but starting the day after Pearl Harbour. We are in late May 1945. I am playing Japan. On the last go he sent, the go runs but when watching the combat replay when it get right to the end ( ie when its telling me which new airgroups have arrived ) it then crashes to desktop and doesn't save the "run" go. My oppone t has sent me the file again, and redone his turn and sent it to me agaon but with same result every time. We do about a go a day and this hasn't happened before.
I should note we are both running the same version as noted in the title.
Any suggestions/ help?

Did either of you switch to a new map? That can cause mismatch issues.

I also tried running the go on my laptop as well as on my desktop. Exactly the same thing happened at exactly the same point in time, so it feels program related rather than computer related.
I remember years ago there was an issue re the number of pilots in the game which could cause an issue. Thought that was sorted but could that be a cause?

Don't use 26A. use 26B. 26A is superseded by it.

Not so. When 26B was made an official version (no longer Beta), 1126a was updated with 1126B changes. The only thing different is the install directory and shortcut.

That problem was with the number of aircraft clashes during the round, each aircraft shooting at another being counted as a clash. It was adjusted upward.
Since your game is nearly over and the VP ratio was closing in on 3:1, is it possible that you hit the victory ratio that round and the crash happened when it tried to display the victory screen?

We were nowhere near 3:1- we were roughly at 1.3:1! (Japanese player takes umbrage....)
We went back a turn and I redid my go and sent it, and my oppoent redid his go and sent it back to me, in case we had a corrupted file in some way- I am still getting a crash on the new go at the same point very late in the turn resolution.
Not sure where to go from here.

No Further ideas? Otherwise we are going to have to fold a campaign thats being running 3 real time years...
To update further.
I have tried a full reinstall and repatch,
tried numerous combinations of the switches at the start,
different resolutions, and even an update to the latest beta patch.
We have gone back one day and redone our turns , then redone the current day .Nothing made any difference- all crashed at same point on the 29th
To give more details we are running ( original) scenario 6, so full campaign, start the day after Pearl Harbour, and we are up to 29th May 1945- ie the day screen when running the combat replay is showing the 29th May,and if it ever got to the final screen I assume it would show the 30th for orders. . It feels like a database issue, but having opened the editor ...for only the first time since I have had WITP and WITPAE, i have no idea what to look at to consider anything.

Maybe an aircraft model is upgarding to a non-existent aircraft model? I vaguely remember some B-17 or B-29 model problems, but it could have been a mod issue.

I am the allied player. I didn't upgrade anything, but the Soviets are set to auto-upgrade.

Some things to consider
Does it happen in the same place? Looking at the last events recoded in the combat, ops and event logs might help identify the problem.
Get your opponent to redo the turn, leaving moves out. The same goes for your turn.

Definitely happening in same place. Last events in the ops log are arrivals of japanese units with the last being "43rd Const Co arrives at Tokyo". I see that appear on the screen when running the go and then everything crashes.

I don't know if this is the cause or not, but VPB 130 might be the problem. I had loaded them onto a transport at Pearl Harbor and sent them to Manila. They were due to be withdrawn before they arrived, I did not notice this at the time I loaded them or I would not have sent them. They were due to withdraw on April 23. The last time the Opp report lists them as being overdue for withdrawal is April 11. On April 11, VMF 225 became due to withdrawal. On April 12, only VMF 225 is listed as overdue, but VPB 130 is not listed as having been withdrawn on either date.

It possible. Try and redo the turn or better still off loading it but that might not be possible.
