New Scenario for Testing: Ouadi Doum, 1986

Now that the CMO update is live, I'm getting back into scenario creation.

Let's start things off with something simple - the Ouadi Doum airstrike in 1986.

The scenario ought to be a trivial OCA exercise from a weaponeering perspective. The challenge is really in putting the aircraft over the target - it's well outside the range of the Jaguar (which I think is an underutilized aircraft in CMO).

Given the force composition and basing constraints, this presents similar, though not identical, challenges to the Operation Black Buck series of airstrikes that the UK carried out during the Falklands War.

Please let me know what you think!

It's been 2 weeks and there's no critique.

I guess that means it's ready to share with the Community Scenario Pack?

Thanks for the scenario, just tested it, the version you posted for the CP.

Managed to drop 252 BAP.100 Anti-Runway bombs on Ouadi Doum runaway and only caused 8.9% of damage on it. Supposedly is the primary target.

Lost 2 Jaguars in the attack.

-16 points for a major defeat.

Is it winnable?

I have played Ouadi Doum, 1986 at least five times now. I lean towards scenarios that re-create and-or build in real world events so this in my wheelhouse. In the case of Ouadi Doum, 1986, the best I was able to achieve was a minor defeat with 60 points (not as good as the French). On that occasion I lost five Jaguars, dropped 108 BAP.100 munitions and got 25% damage to the runway. Refueling the Jaguars to get them to target and back was challenging. Found it difficult to not lose any aircraft and get bombs on the runway.
