CEZ generation with Area & Reference Point Manager

If a Custom Environmental Zone (CEZ) is created in the Area & Reference Point Manager, CMO automatically adds a "Nature" category and assigns the CEZ to it. This makes perfect sense since the environment applies to all other sides. However, the Area & Reference Point Manager shows different behavior depending on whether the zone is built in the editor or if an existing zone is transformed into a CEZ. If the CEZ is directly built with the editor, the reference points stay visible in the manager and remain visible for the side they were generated with. For all other sides, the zone is visible, but not the reference points. If an existing zone is transformed into a CEZ, the reference points are transferred to the nature side, and the CEZ is only visible for the nature side. At first glance, it looks like the points were deleted if the user has not switched to the nature side.
I'm not sure which behavior is better since both make sense and could be useful depending on the intended purpose of the zone. If this is working as designed, it is not properly documented yet and feels a little strange.
