I have several PCs and many/most programs and games are installed on all of them. My screens are a patch work of icons but I like it that way. I am seldom more than ten feet from a PC or laptop !

Recently OneDrive started synchronizing/backing up - which sounds very sensible except it has now obliterated many of my icons and in some cases adding dead link icons in their place. This has happened not just to Matrix games icons - so it is not a Matrix thing.

Has this happened to you? It won't of course if you are normal and sensible with only one PC

Turn off syncing for certain folders: If you have folders or icons on your desktop that you don't want to sync, you can choose to turn off syncing for those folders
