[1.0-1.26j3] Towed guns *still* have no move penalty

105mm gun with model -31% move penalty and 300mm gun with -71% penalty have same AP cost when being towed by a +0 modifier truck.
The 1.25 manual indicates this behavior is incorrect.

I recall this feature being requested/added because the idea of a 100 hp light truck trying to tow a 300mm naval rifle is comical, yet it looks like it never really got fixed.
Which also shows how underused artillery is, that nobody else caught this bug since that time.

Its true I haven't used this combination very often. Even 100 turns in. But I thought I had seen it working. I seem to remember the actual movement cost of mixed units rising when I added heavier artillery. So a road hex would cost 13AP for example.
Its easy enough to check (with a save game). But a screenshot of the unit moving would clear up any doubt too.

I thought so too, and us Shadow Empire veterans were telling a newbie about the towed malus, but our resident minmaxxer MP dominator Zarohn did a test to verify and apparently we were huffing rainbow unicorn farts.

Yes, as you say, no AP malus has been applied in that image. We cant see what the modifiers on the respective sub-units are, of course.
I'll keep an eye on it. But it should be hard to miss, and I have been keeping an eye on it. The modifier may still apply in other situations. In my current game, I'm having enough trouble keeping regular infantry in the field, so motorized artillery is a way off yet.
One thing which comes to mind is that the unit's AP cost for the hex in Zarohn's image should be 103AP (60 x 1.71=102.6), which being over 100 might cause the issue.

Checked this out. Will be fixed in next beta patch.
Turns out the penalty was only applied if the trucks had reduced AP cost (due to powerful engine for example).
Next version it will always applied.
