Questions About AB2 Features

A few questions before I decide to buy:
1. In my opinion, the weakest part of AB1 was the infantry. On the Matrix Games Store, one of the key features listed for AB2 is: "Infantry Rework: Redesigned infantry mechanics for a more authentic and engaging ground combat experience." Could you provide more detail on what has been improved regarding infantry behavior? How well does AB2 simulate scenarios where infantry is well entrenched in trenches?
2. Which terrains and what equipment from AB1 are included in AB2? For example, if I own DLCs for AB1, is any of that included in AB2? If not, what are the general plans regarding this?
3. What is the situation with creating custom maps? As far as I remember, AB1 provided a fairly comprehensive guide for digitizing terrain using Google Maps and QGIS and importing it into the game. How does this work in AB2? Is the terrain digitization process roughly the same, or is it more complicated? Is it even supported?
In any case, congratulations to the developers on the improvements, especially the transition to 3D terrain. That feature alone justifies the purchase, but I would still like to hear the answers to the questions above.
