If you dig a fortification pointed at an ocean hex, will it affect the damage that amphibs (and BB bombardment) can do?

Good question. I believe the defender gets the entrenchment extras, yes.
Does the direction matter, I think so.
Wait to you get slammed by 4+ Marines & after a Medium Bombers.
Even worse, sit in Rome with entrenchment +6,
These scripted Clone players will crash your party with 8+ landing transfer.

I wanted to know this last year but I think I was too lazy to test it. To my recollection I do believe the direction the walls of the fort are pointed DOES matter vs amphibs, but I can't remember for certain.
