Hi Guys

It’s really good news that the North Koreans are being added to the OOB for this game. Couple of quick questions.

Firstly, is the UK (already done and in the Middle East game) going to be ported across, perhaps with the Korea specific higher formations “borrowed” from the JTS Korean War mod?

Secondly are the relevant terrain types for the Korean pinnular in summer and winter going to be added to the game at the same time?

In terms of scenario design there is quite a lot of porting over that scenario designers can do from the JTCS Korean War Mod the WDS Squad Battles game & “Forgotten War” mod covering the Korean War as will as scenarios from Steam Panthers MBT. The WDS Korea 85 game should also provide some conversion opportunities for scenario designers.
This will be one hell of a New Years present for owners of the CS Vietnam game.

The UK is slated to be rebuilt with more accurate information/OOB structures.

Once that's is done, they will be potentially included as well.

That being said, if anyone has good information on the British historical Order of Battles from 1948-1985, let me know!

For the NATO side of things I would recommend "The British Army in Germany: An Organizational History 1947-2004" by Graham Watson published by General Data LLC. This should enable you to reflect the OOB changes month by month in terms of regiments / battalions and above.

For the Korea side of things generally (in case you don't have it already) there is "Korean War Orders Of Battle" by Gordon L Rottman. Deals with all combatant nations, the little brother of his more weighty and well known one on the Vietnam War.

Would you happen to know of another source for the Territorial Army?

Wikipedia has a good article and the OOB utility for the CS Cold War Mod has some as well although I would treat this with a degree of caution although the Wikipedia article appears to match with it.

In relation to the North Korean army Helion Books have their hardback book The Armed Forces of North Korea On The Path Of Songun (that usually sells for £45.00 on sale this weekend at £13.50. This runs to 240 pages, has 429 colour & 29 b/w photos, 68 colour profiles & artworks, 5 colour maps.

You might want to grab your copy while stocks last.

Please work on scripted Korean War scenarios. It is such a forgotten war !!

While your waiting have you tried the Korean War mod that runs on the original John Tiller's campaign series game. There a lot of convertible scenarios to there which could now be made up for the CSVN game.

Started working on the "Task Force Smith" one myself.

Let me know how it goes, I am more than happy to generate Lua files for the scenarios!

Note that it is easiest to work with Map, Org and Scenario editors with all scenario files in \Scenarios root. Once they are completed, you can group them in a subfolder of their own, they will work that way, too. The front end recognizes all content available, and can invoke them from where they are.Even from \Scenarios root, if you decide to keep them there.
