[1.2.7.7] Fighter beam weapons dont render as beams, but as weird slow bolts.

This has been an issue in Distant Worlds 2 as far as I can remember. See below image.
Ideally fighter beam weapons would render just as beams on ships, but perhaps would linger less.
Currently they just show up as these dot like things halfway between themselves and the target, and very slowly (much slower than a blaster) move towards the target. You can also see what might be impact effects that are kinda off. Damage is instantaneous and seems correct.
In the image you see the Thuon Beam, but I'm pretty sure this affects every beam weapon. Star Beams are definitely affected too.
You can easily recreate this by just building some fighters with beam weapons and sending them out to attack.
