Greetings folks,

I am delighted to announce that the (unofficial) DLC "Case Blue" is finally being released and it brings the 1942-1945 Campaign. It took me more than one year from researching the most detailed OOB down to fix the last bugs that emerged during the closed beta testing. The scenario is based on my OOB mod 3.4 and is far from being perfect, especially when playing against the AI (and when playing against the Axis AI, I recommend setting the Morale difficulty level to 110, just to give it a fair chance in combat). I hope at least that as many of you will try it and will report here below as many bugs as you can possibly spot/discover. Who knows, maybe one day the Devs will make it an official game scenario... ;)

The scenario also includes:
- several German buildable units (up to the Kampfgruppe)
- bonus AP for the Axis player, for capturing earlier than the historical date Sevastopol, Voronezh, Rostov and Stalingrad
- two new buildable German Army HQs (50 AP each)
- 5 new German Army Corps HQ and 5 non-rebuildable Infantry Divisions, only if the player conquers Sevastopol and Voronezh on T1 (the Axis AI does not attack Sevastopol on T1, so there is no chance of activating it. I know, this is totally unhistorical but it is one way to help the Axis player in having more counters/divisions on the map).
- reduced MP for the 6th Army, as its attack begun on June 30th due to the rain of the previous two days.

I would like to especially acknowledge the Discord users Wiedrock, FortTell (UTC+5), et, Imperator_King and Ringhloth for providing constructive criticism and ideas during their playthrough.

To play the scenario, simply unzip the folder into your Gary Grigsby's War in the East 2/Dat/Scen folder.

Yippee! I'm so happy to read this right now. Do you know how long I've been waiting for it? I was afraid it would never come. Hopefully it works halfway :)

Alright folks,

just a few hours before Christmas here in Italy and patch 1.1 goes out, squeezing a few bugs that have been reported on Discord!

Changelog of 1.1:

- Deactivated "Winter Is Here", "It's Not Over", "Consolidating Control" and "US Enters The War"
- Axis now gains 15 AP/turn and Soviets 20 AP/turn (I am planning some event-based AP gain mechanic in a future update)
- Removed MP to the II Rum. Corps (9th and 14th Rum. ID), as they are frozen for 5 turns.

Since the 1942-45 scenario has been out a while what do users think of it?

Especially from the Axis point of view.

Thankyou

While I wait for some good souls to give me their feedback on the scenario, I spoiler already that the next update will feature a massive rework of Soviet Rifle Divisions (by being already pre-assigned to their [somewhat] historical Rifle Corps), a few changes in the Red Army OOB and a rework on Soviet units repositioning on the map.

Soviet Cavalry Corps have only one X over the unit symbol and appear to be brigades. They are still functioning as corps, i.e., can have support unit attached, have normal OOB, cost 4 CP to attach, etc.

Also, the "Collapse of 39th Army" event did not send the HQ to Soviet Reserves, just the units.

I'm trying to reassemble 1/1st Gds Cav Crps, 2/1st Gds Cav Crps, and 3/1 Gds Cav Crps into a corps and it isn't working. As I said in an earlier post, each one is acting like it is a corps.

Hi Doc, thanks for your precious comments! I reproduced your 1st Guards Cavalry Corps bug, and it was an easy fix since I had this very same bug with many German units. I also fixed the 39th Army events, now the HQ equally relocates to the SR on T2.

Thanks to the (only) 2 PBEMs, many more bugs came to the surface and the next update will be quite massive. Unfortunately, as I am very busy IRL and currently reworking the 1941-1945 scenarios, the 1942 GC will have to wait.

Again, thanks a lot for your input, it is highly appreciated!!

I'll keep at it, anything else I notice I'll let you know. Just playing against the AI, it's been years since I've played this but your scenario brought me back for more, so thanks!

Just dropping the news here, the next update for the 1942-1945 GC will be huge, as it features a massive rework of the Soviet OOB, with units now in their historical location and a more balanced situation on the southern front. I hope to send it out by the end of next week. Stay tuned!

Im playing the 1942-45 scenario T75 Nov 43.

THe Hitler Jugend div is missing. Not seen it ever, nor in TB`s or in Arrivals schedule.

Am I mistaken or is this a planned non appearance?

thankyou

It's simply the 12th SS Panzer Division, just like in the 1941-1945 GC. It arrives locked in WE and moves to the map in late 1944, IIRC

Thank you for your reply.

I am going mad.......... I didn`t mean the 12th SS Pz Div at all !

What I meant to ask about was the Herman Goring Pz Div. I haven`t seen it at any point in the games nor in the TB`s.

PS. Great scenario - was always my favourite one 42-45 in WIR,
and WITE

Thanks again.
