Ok les, Hmmm, can you tell me where I can find out some details of ASL. My search engine comes up with giberish. There must be a web-site for this game?
Hope I don't seem ignorant.
Need alcohol, back in half an hour.
Cheers.

The source is of course MMP
http://www.multimanpublishing.com/ASL/asl.php
But that link is only useful when you have cash in hand and are ready to actually buy ASL form the company that makes it.
The current hubbub is about the new forum that was added at Warfare HQ
http://www.warfarehq.com/forums/index.php?s=
It should be noted that they recently just rebuilt their site and it has a nice new look alround.
As it stands, apart from mailing lists which are basically mailing lists and might as well be the lame Consimworld forums, there really isn't any other ASL dedicated forums I am aware of.

ClubSSI had an ASL forum too. Unforunately the board was shut down two years ago.

Thank's Les. I've already signed up.
seem to remember free squad leader game download on a server sometime ago, 3D type game, can't remember but I suspect that it may have been an attempt to copy the board game. You recall anything about this?

No mate, I just downloaded it and it didn't ring any bells, anyway I believe you must know how to play the game with this and possibly already own the board game, VASSl looks kind of simular to ADC2 or at least allows the player's to do the same thing.
ie. allow a board game to be played on the PC (no AI) via email. I have no problem with this kind of system but the game I was thinking about was like a 3D game on a small scale and you could command your squad individually or as a group. I only played the free trial game for this multiplay game and it only allowed the player to command one or two squad's to advance and take a village or something, sort of like playing with toy (OO HO scale) soldiers. I'm gonna go seek it out. I'll let you all know tommorrow night.
G'night all.

does that ring any bells?

The 3d part has me thinking it couldn't be to much of anything else but a Combat Mission demo or even perhaps GIC as it had a demo.
Not to many games out there in 3d that make one think of Squad Leader though.
Main difference with VASL and Aide de Camp is that one is free the other not.
I looked at ADC a while back though, and some of the games made for it make it worth the money. Would get it just to play Longest Day.
I have heard people say you can essentially skip out of owning the game and be able to play these computer tool board game programs, but can't picture how it would be done myself.
