Do HQs give bonus over water?

Some previous games had HQ on transports to aid landings.

Worr, out

Units can only attach to HQs over land and not over sea hexes. However, they can attach to HQs on other islands provided just a "strait" hex divides them like in the Philippines and other archipelagoes.

HQs don't provide a bonus while being transported at sea, so they have to get ashore first. There are no amphibious command ships in the game as in some others. ;)

Thank you!

So in USA strategic terms, little sense in researching command and control, and perhaps to a lesser degree logistics in this instance. I know logistics impacts the larger USA position, but for island hoping not so much?

Thanks again for any advise.

Actually, logistics is rather critical for the US. It increases the number of land units you can have at sea at one time to transport into position to conduct invasions and decreases the cost of embarking them. It also improves their supply situation once on shore and increases the number of HQs you can build.

I still think C and C research is important. Especially the number of units it can attach. Maybe it's my imagination but the enemy or AI always seems to spot the unit that isn't attached to an HQ due to its decreased readiness and morale and beats up on it at the first opportunity.
