Question - Vehicle Dimensions

Ok, this is definitely an obscure question: in the unit specs panel we see entries for vehicle length, width, and height. Are these purely informational (absolutely no complaints -- give us more!), or are they connected to game mechanics in some way? For example, I was looking at the Challenger Mk 3/3 and noticed that the height was listed as 1.6m. The sources I looked at list the Challenger as being about 2.9m tall. If these numbers are just nice-to-know, then who cares. But if they are connected to some kind of spotting or "to hit" algorithm, then the game may think the Challenger Mk 3/3 is a much smaller target than it really is.
A related question: why are two different values given for each dimension? For example, going back to the Challenger Mk 3/3, the height is given as "1.6m / 0.9m". What is the second value? Typically, I would expect to see a different measurement system, such as "1.6 meters / 5.2 feet." I thought maybe it could be a defilade number, but that would only make sense for height.
UPDATE: I think I figured it out - for the dimensions, the first number is for the hull, the second number is for the turret (if any). So, if you add the height of the hull and the turret, the result is a lot closer to the vehicle height cited in reference books.
