Hi, new player here.

Does Germany get the above ships by event?
If so, does anyone know when/with what conditions?

The names are not listed under the Battleship build options so I feel they must be reserved, but I can't see any event for them in the manuals.

The Bismarck should be in the build queue, early 1941.

The Tirpitz is part of a decision event where you can scrap her and build a bunch of subs instead. Such builds do NOT show up in the build queue. [tho I wish they did]

They arrive automatically in Germany's Production Queue, for deployment in August 1940 (Bismarck) and February 1941 (Tirpitz).

You can view the Production Queue by going to the Purchase screen and then clicking on Production, as there are more than just these two units set to arrive for Germany.

I think you must be referring to a mod here.

Yes I was, but many people esp. those who are newbies don't know scripted builds don't show up in the build queue, so they'll be going along, and all of a sudden a "bonus" unit they had no idea was coming pops up for placement on the map.
