setting up

I'm aware that everyone's raving about this game, and I would also like to. The manual and tutorials, however, are definitely C-, which prevents me from enjoying it.
Instead of spending paragraphs on fluff, for starters, be instead extremely specific on fundamentals; for example, how do you place units before starting scenario?
If I choose the Tutorial 1 scenario and right-click on an armored platoon HQ vehicle, then choose PLACE and left-click on the location I want, all is well and the platoon is placed there.
BUT, if I choose any normal scenario, and right-click on a formation HQ, the PLACE button does NOT appear, and the space key short-cut option does not work either, so I can't place any units.
Is this normal? If so, why? And why isn't it mentioned in the manual and/or tutorials?
Furthermore, the whole disabled/enabled waypoint business is unnecessarily complicated, as are the BPs and TRPs.
Your target should be user-friendliness in game mechanics and clarity of text in manuals and tutorials.

Pre-made scenarios often have units locked by the scenario maker (indicated by a small lock symbol next to the NATO icon), preventing them from being moved. You can also drag units around, which is probably a more common method compared to the Place command.

As for the complexity of the manual, there is only so much you can simulate before sacrifices in playability have to be made. Despite our best efforts to abstract and simplify, there are limits to how much can be done. Ultimately, this is a wargame that prioritizes realism and accuracy—not a casual, arcade-style experience.
