Scenario: Scottish Rebellion

The British Army invades Scotland to remove a secessionist government, which is in the process of building its own army.
An attempt to translate a Balkan / Middle Eastern Style conflict to Western Europe.
Might have gotten carried away, when adding loads of colorful units and sub-factions. Hope it is as fun playing as making.
Roughly balanced as political meddling cancels out the UK military superiority initially.
Very events heavy with a lot of randomization so no play-through should be the same.
Credits: The map is by Tony Velasquez. Could not have done something that great myself.

Nice to see an update to a 17th century scenario. I played the original back in the TOAW III days and look forward to your version.

Is this a contemporary-"what-if" scenario? It sounds very intriguing. What is the scale, etc.

Yes, it is contemporary.
Basically the UK continues to deteriorate and the nationalist Scottish government begins pushing for independence.
Once the nationalist start building a Scottish National Guard as quasi army, the British government decides to remove the nationalists from power.
It is a realistic contemporary conflict, the UK gov initially tries to keep this a police action and only invades with special forces, police and some infantry instead of the entire army. But more troops might follow once the conflict escalates.
But I threw in as much in historic references and flavour as possible.
