Strike a reference point

Is there a way to arrange a strike at a reference point?
For example a satellite or a recon A/C may pick up a target whose position I mark on my map. Then the satellite flies away or the recon unit returns to base and the contact is lost. How can I still arrange a tomahawk strike at the already marked point?

You should be able to do a Bearing-Only Launch to accomplish what you're trying to do. There are several versions of Tomahawk with Bearing-Only properties in the database. Ctrl+F1 brings Bearing-Only Launch up. See pages 52 and 310 in the manual for more info. I have yet to try this. Hope it work outs.
Cheers

Or place a rectangle box around that postion (they can move?) and let aircraft do an Air to Ground patrol mission to find and strike the target (place engage tgts of opportunity on in the doctrine window)

Also, you can tweak the settings at which old contacts disappear in the cog wheel settings menu to make them last longer.

Can you please elaborate? Are you referring to "contracts and unit trails"?
