What did you install? Base game + version#.
What operating system are you using?
Did you install switches in your shortcut? If so, post the string pls.
Did you set preferences at game start on the radio screens or using the button at the top of the map after starting the game?
Are you using a laptop?

copy/paste the properties of your launch icon. it will look something like this:
"C:\Matrix\WitPAE\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -w -SingleCpuOrders -dd_sw -skipVideo -multiaudio -autosave -altFont -pxf1900 -pyf980 -deepColor -archive

We need to see this to be able to help. This is what the others are referring to when they ask about "switches".

The version number can be found in the top right when you launch the game, but before you choose a scenario. That will look like this:
