Abandoned Freighters

Policy Setting
- Disassemble Civilian Ships - always (Had tried 'If Higher Tech or Larger than I can build')
- Enlist Civilian Ships - Never (Tried 'When Not Higher Tech or Larger than I can build)

I had construction ship build/repair abandoned freighters. However, as soon as completed the freighter flies off to join merchant fleet. There is no option to scrap or retire ship and is stuck on auto as it is a freighter. Scuttle just blows ship up.

Neither policy setting combination results in freighters being retired.

Can find no way to retire ship although window/message pops up suggesting I might wish to do so.

Is there a way to retire freighter for chance at advanced techs?

Also if someone would please answer question I keep asking to no avail. Is there a way to have bases fueled except manually sending tankers out to each one?

It is intended that you're unable to manually retire freighters. You should be getting tech boosts from repairing the ship though.

There should be no need to manually refuel bases and stations. These needs should be covered with energy collectors.

but i would suggest that you handle freighters like all other ships, means small--medium--large upgrades and not 3 different freighters that do the same job.
Also please a script for AI´s that deletes older teamplates. If you take out a AI Empire you suddenly get hundreds teamplates of small freighters etc , very annoying.

It would be nice to see a fully automated public sector that drives on demand and requests... Add in some passenger traffic, civil stations , Police force
