Balance / realism of SCUD attacks on airbases ?

Hi,

I've been playing OAOW since the first opus, and just finally bought the OAOW 4, just to have enhanced graphics and rules on windows 11.

The funny thing is that I'm also playing Command Modern Operations at the same time, so the two games cover rather well land / air battles.

There's a thing I already noticed while playing OAOW 3, especially in the Korea 2015 scenario : it is the way the game handles the attacks of north korean SCUD likes platform on south Korean and offmap airbases... They do heavy damage on planes, decimating wings.

With OAOW 4 I found that the new Navy system was much better while playing Falkland scenario, but the SCUD/Missile attack system seems still unbalanced.

In reality or even in Command Modern Operations, such attacks are much more realistic.

1) NATO modern airbases have concrete dispersed and individual airplanes hangars, and they aren't aligned near the runway like the russian backfires waiting to be slaughtered. SCUD likes are heavy bombs, but they're not very precise and I guess that if they manage to hit the airfield, eventually they could kill a plane if they luckily direct hit a shelter, but they won't kill other planes.

2) The game covers SAM and AA platform, but I do not understand how they effectively work. In reality, such SCUDS would likely be intercepted. Today, when you look at the israely iron dome it intercepts almost anything, even with large amounts of incoming shells, rockets or missiles.

3) In the scenario North Korea have units with 90 launchers in it, but I didn't figured yet how it works really, as these launchers have 1 shoot and need to be resupplied. I don't think that Korea have infinite loads of SCUDS...

4) I tried direct planes attacks on SCUDs units, but the damage were lighter then the scud attacks. SCUD are very easy and unprotected targets. They should be killed better then the SCUDS rampage airbases.

5) I would have liked in the combat report to have a log showing how AA missiles intercept incoming threats, because I think they are useless against incoming missiles...

These are just my first thoughts, I didn't looked deeply in the interception system, but if you have some infos, I'd like to read about that.

OAOW would be very complete if it handle these modern threats as they should be, like in Command Modern Operations.
