The Road to Leningrad is probably the most beginner-friendly, IMO. Once you have learnt the basics, I would then recommend the Destruction of the Southwestern Front.

These are all too big scenarios. I need a micro scenario, hand-edited at battalions level. That way I can study how the game works. Just moving units as far as they go doesn't make sense. I want to understand the mechanics of the game so I can then make tactical decisions.
