Cant fix or force fonts in year 2025, need help.

First of all --> dxdiag file attached
screenshot attached 1920x1024
I can see my Nvidia GPU is listed across the top of main game screen.
Frustrated old guy with optic nerve / eyesight damage, completed eye surgery and got new lenses inside my eyes (surgery) AND new lenses for the eyeglasses.. but hey- looks arent everything

I'm in my last remaining years of playing good games like CMO.. and I'm painfully regretting paying so much money for this game and being forced to use a huge magnifying glass along with prescription lenses for hours on end.
Searching Steam & Matrix forums have provided non-helpful suggestions like ...
using cntrl-a and then cntrl-0 to enlarge fonts / copy / paste =
doesnt work or ...
using pop out window for message log or ...
increasing windows system font size greater than 100% =
doesnt work or ...
dont use high DPI settings if you havent got 4k monitor or ...
All I want is to find a single person who posted he was able to copy either the message log window text to notepad, where I definitely know I can increase font size.
I dont care if someone has to teach me how to dig into the games files -since all I am doing is running througn the submarine tutorials, and I know every time I restart the tutorial, the same text instructions, and the same step by step guidance appears again and again, so they must be there somewhere.
I dont care if I need to pay more money for this company to provide me some kind of export tool..
or - finally ... how about givng us a dev roadmap to make a windows game actually have windows where text can be copied and windows work like windows could?
edit: Im testing 800x600 resolution and it became slightly easier to read at the expense of display rteal estate.,

Hi! All briefing/special message text can be copied and pasted as normal by highlighting it and using control-c or right click "copy". To view the message log text you can open them in notepad from log files that are stored in your install folder at Command Modern Operations (Folder)-> Logs (folder). The log files themselves are named automatically with the date they were created on
We are looking into modifying our UI to make it more readable but for now your best options are to increase DPI or like you did; change the resolution of your screen.

I am sorry for jumping into this thread but having a native 4k support is personally and by far my number one usability feature request.
At the moment, the scaling used makes the text appear really blurry on my screen.
So my options are:
1) a perfect font size but blurry
2)a perfectly sharp text, but too small..
This is a bit frustrating in 2025, especially given that this game is rather text intensive (to say the least), and I agree that it really strains my eyes.
I already spend enough time staring at a screen at work (ATC IRL)...
If you could somehow improve that, it would be an awesome addition to what is basically a one of a kind game.
Best regards.
Charles

tango4 < Can we see an example of the "blurry" fonts that you describe? Thanks.

Sure:
I just took a couple screenshot, here are links to my dropbox so that you can download them full resolution.

A bit more context to explain a bit better the issue.
I am on a 4k screen, 3840*2160.
In order to be comfortable in my daily use, my windows scale (in the display menu that says "change the size of text, apps, and other items) is set to 175%.
With this setting, when launching CMO, everything has the perfect size, as it scales, but it seems that everything is rendered in 1080p. I don't know if "blurry" is the best term to define what i see. It is perfectly readable but very unpleasant and it quickly gets tiring. On my screenshots, you can see that the title bar of the app on top of the screen is perfectly sharp, while the rest has this "blurry" feeling.
I had the exact same issue with a completely different software: Aerowinx PSX B747 simulator, written in java.
I have to install a specific java version in order to get it to render in native 4k instead of this unpleasant scaling (JDK, the dev environment. Don't ask me why but it works !).
If I change the high dpi setting to scaling performed by app instead of system in command.exe properties, the app will run in native 4k...but all menus are truncated. So I have to set windows scaling to 100%...but then everything is way too small!
Not the easiest thing to explain in written form, so I hope that you can at least make some sense of what I wrote.

I see.
Can you please try this: Set the windows scale to 200% and see if this improves the visual quality of the application.
(I have sometimes observed in Windows apps that "fractional" scaling can have some distortion effects)

For reference, this is CMO on my 4K monitor, using 200% scale (open image in new tab to enlarge):

Well, I think it looks pretty similar to mine.
I think the issue is exacerbated by the fact that I have a big screen (42in).
But this is also pretty visible in your screenshot.
For example, you opened the window load scenario.
We can clearly see that the title « load scenario »itself is sharp (it is native 4K). While the text right below is rather pixelated (probably a better description than blurry; it’s just that pixelated text seen from a distance looks kind of blurry).
Just to be clear, all the text is perfectly readable. It just feels really unpleasant and this game being really text intensive would really benefit from a 4K support as I feel 4K is really a great plus for reading.
All this is obviously completely subjective and reflect only my personal views.

Just to clarify I’ll try tomorrow with scaling at 200% but I don’t really think that will dramatically improve things. I’ll report back after that of course.

I don't see an issue with the screenshot. And a 42 inch screen is going to look fuzzy to most people sitting close. Even in 4k.

Not really, I use it from a distance, and all windows app texts don’t have this issue and are really sharp in 4K (as the title bar in the screenshot).
As I said I saw this behavior in PSX but was able to solve it and it really improved the look.
The issue is definitely present. But feeling it as disturbing or not is indeed really subjective and will probably vary a lot between people.
Once again, this is (in my case) unpleasant but not a show stopper.

We understand and empathize with your predicament, and we will have another attempt at improving this.
I am still curious if a 200% scaling improves your situation.

i just tried with 200% scaling factor and I can confirm the issue is basically the same for me.
Perhaps even worse (but due to the fact that I have a big screen, and 200% is really too much for the distance I am from my screen).
Thank you very much for at least taking the time to read my messages and answer me, this is much appreciated.
