The latest update seems to have made the mid-late game unplayable on my computer. I'm running a Ryzen 5 5600X 6 core cpu which up till now has got me barely thru late game on 700 star game running 4x speed, even 8x speed. Not the biggest system around, but it got me there.

Since this latest update, I can't get past mid game on 1x speed without everything coming to a standstill. If I reload it picks up a bit, but within 5mins it's locked up again. Has anyone else experienced this?

If this is down to the game, then I may as well put it away till I get a better computer. There must be a lot of other players in the same boat.

The fact that it happens after playing a while, and disappears on a reload, suggests a memory leak to me. If so, then it will be fixable if they can pin it down.

I have the same CPU and it had to be fast enough for a game like distant worlds 2.
I have 32 GB ram. How much RAM do you have?

Yeah, I have the same experience on i7-13700k and 128gb RAM. I mean, the game is fully playable for me on x2-x4 in the late game with 2000 stars, but I can confirm that performance slowly decreases and gets back on reloading.

I have 32 gb. I really played around with things last night to see if I could improve it, even expanded the virtual memory. I'd love to know what is different between the 2 computers, or how I might go about determining that.

The other thing is that playability really fell off a cliff after the Tactics update.

I not really play the game anymore. Too much bugs and the races and other files get changed and changed so modding game is too much work.

Do you have a save, DxDiag, and a SessionLog you can share with us?
