I've been waiting to buy this until you could design your own historic scenarios with historically realistic ships. Am I correct that this feature is part of RTW3? I can't find any such scenarios on Steam or here?

Can anyone list the historic battles that come with the game?

Am I wrong with my understanding?

As it is just now RTW3 generates battles based on the strategic situation within the game so I'm not aware of any possibility to create historic scenarios as it stands right now. There is an expansion coming and it has the ability to create the type of battles you are looking for. If you can't wait for that, I'd suggest buying either Steam and Iron or Steam and Iron: Russo-Japanese War. Both available at NWS

Announced in Sept. 2024, they say it's due out this summer, but since RTW is basically a one or two man show I wouldn't be surprised if it takes longer.
