about the Republic DLC

I'm very confused at the moment ... I thought the Republic DLC was about Politic and Diplomacy with foreign factions ... this is what was laking the most ... dealing even more with internal politic was secondary in my opinion ...
@Vic will the diplomacy also get expanded without having to wait for the next DLC?
We really lack stratagems to mengle with international politic and better espionage/riot stratagems during wars.
IMO there should also be a way to alter the markets during war ... creating shortage, damaging food production or industries, tech stealing?
