See Flight Disco55 between Crimea and Turkish cost RTB to Kirovsk. It refuses to follow order to loiter while in RTB status.

I am not sure if this problem has been reported before. This seems like a new behavior. I tend to order loiter on the way back to avoid running out of fuel surprises.
Actually, it would be extremely handy if in the mission settings one was able to set Loiter as the speed for the way back home from patrols.

In general it fees that manual overrides for altitude and speed do not work in patrol and strike missions which is frustrating

I'm not able to reproduce this, and please in the future if this is something you're consistently seeing try and remake it in a simpler scenario. It takes way to long for me to hunt down these aircraft in thousand unit scenarios, and I wasn't able to find the flight you're referring to.

I recommend unassigning the unit so you have full control over it if this keeps happening

Noted. Please understand that my purpose is not to playtest the betas and file reports under certain recommended settings, nor be a nuisance. I am just enjoying the game (a lot) and I happen to prefer to play large scenarios. It happens that these days I am playing the particular - admittedly complex- scenario. When I come across a behavior that spoils part of the fun, I simply report it in the interest of the community and the devs.

I was able to reproduce this in a different scenario, should have a fix coming. In the mean time try unassigning them like I mentioned previously and also giving them a new movement order and that should "reset" them
