CMBN keeps freezing

Hi. I have an ongoing issue with playing CMBN. I get a few turns into a game and it freezes. I can't use my keyboard or mouse when this happens and I have to re-boot my PC. Someone suggested turning off the shaders, which I did but this did not solve it. I really like this game and would appreciate a fix if anyone has had a similar problem. I have 3.2 gig Intel Processor with32 gb of ram and my video card is an Nvidia GeForce GT720. Any suggestions would be appreciated

By any chance do you have an integrated GPU on your motherboard? If so, you'll want to go into the Settings menu and make sure that CMBN is set to force Windows to use the High Performance option - your NVida card.

On Win10 you can find it under Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings
On Win11 you can find it under Settings > System > Display > Graphics
In both, the Graphics option is at/near the bottom of the System > Display screen.
