Sometimes "Attack hex with all uncommitted units" doesn't work

Post by lucliu »

v07.00.01.00, Solitaire mode, Barbarossa scenario, Novice OR set, not reproducible.

Sometimes "Attack hex with all uncommitted units" doesn't work for a particular hex(it does work for the other hex), need to save and reload the game to make it work, or click and drop the units to attack manually.
I'm not sure how to trigger this issue as it's not reproducible, could be resolved by save/load the game.

That is a very odd situation for a Barbarossa scenario. How did it happen? No doubt the Russians are the ones attacking.

I don't see any attack markers but you are aware units can only attack one hex each? There are some tricks, for example if an attacking stack is adjacent to two defending stacks and you use that command, then it can't respond to the command being used on the other stack. And for cross river attacks where you want to use an Engineer's ability, more right click selections are needed to do so - one on the Engineer and one on each unit that will use the benefit.

If you want to split a stack to attack two different hexes, you individually drag the attacking units onto the proposed defenders. That is another way to allocate any unit to any attack.

I have not ever witnessed the problem you are reporting, so there must be another reason for it.

Thanks for reaching out, Paul.
My apologies for not explaining the issue properly.

The issue was that I couldn't initiate the attack on the hex with the "Attack hex with all uncommitted units" menu(also double click with the left mouse button), which I highlighted with the GREEN box, there were no attacking arrows, nor any actions taken by the units.
But I could initiate other attacks on the hexes with the "Attack hex with all uncommitted units" menu, which I highlighted with the RED tick.

For the GREEN box hex, I could manually click&drop the units to initiate the attack.
And this issue was not reproducible as it disappeared after the save/load, I could initiate the attack on the GREEN box hex with the "Attack hex with all uncommitted units" menu after reloading.
