I'm new to the game, around 100 fascinating hours: And if it's not part of the story, I may have found a descrepancy.
Having made the investigations regarding the Ancient Terra Ruined Spaceport, research in "Missile Defense Network" should be enabled, but that branch in its entirely is forbidden (for Humans). Please see the attached jpg.
