Never had time to play but I did get the hardback manual. I understand there have been many changes since to the game in profound ways.
Which sections can I still safely use the hardback manual for and which sections do I have to replace with the living manual?

I would use the hardback as general guideline but use the living manual to doublecheck important items.

Of course, that makes sense. Can anyone direct me to the major topics that have been overhauled so i can speed up the process?

I think you can open the digital "living manual" and then search for the characters "V1." This should bring you to all the various additions added after the initial manual.
