Can't match AI Air Assist

Hi, I'm learning WITE2 by watching the AI execute the Velikie Luki Scenario and trying to emulate its moves. I used AI Air assist and saw it moved I/KG53 and III/KG53 from reserves to TransportGr.Nord. I'm trying to do the same manually (air assist off) and I can't seem to be able to transfer them from reserves. It says `can't transfer just arrived air group`, but even further turns I can't seem to transfer them at all (with no message as to why) even though the AI can do it on the first turn.

This is on the latest beta patch 1.04.07. I'm new so am I missing something or is this bugged?

I haven't played in a while, but I think transfer in your display may mean just that; moving an AG from one theater box to another. In the tutorial that is probably a TB as reserves is special, but there is actually only one TB in this case.

The way I have done it is using the map and right clicking on I think an AOG or AG. You will get a filter box of what is operable in the national reserves that you can bring back to the map.

So, in summary, I think your problem is:

* Tutorial scenario

* Using wrong mechanic

Thanks, I think after the first axis turn, I did see them outlined in in the Right-click menu on the airport or aog. I thought I could place them from here since the ground reserves work that way. Still curious about the AI assist difference.

I think from that graphic box, you can only transfer AGs between theaters meaning not the East or Reserves.

You can simply launch the GC (as the Germans; since the Soviets will not counter attack), delete all air directives, speeding through turns and just move some planes around to see how it feels.

The only issue you might run into is if the AGs are scheduled for later transfer, I think keystroke "I" or your commanders report, you will get a pop up warning. Then, you have the option cancel. Or turn the auto transfer for that AG which is in the schedule.

There is a lot of stuff not in the tutorial. Thus, if you want to just play around with UI and mechanics, the best thing is just fire up a scenario without playing seriously.

PS: Another way to speed through turns is set your air report to the lowest, and message level to 0. I like level one notifications (the realtime feel), but I guess you can play more efficiently just using the reports and seeing want interests you.
