I expanded my previous europe map to the south and to the east

The scale is at 25Km / Hex

This is what I have done:

Looks really well scaled. (Iceland really is a little bigger than Ceylon). What projection did you use?

I used klett-perthes maps, I am not sure, but I seem to remember that they use a Mercator projection.
I took the map of Europe and the Middle East, the one of North Africa, the one of Asia and mixed them up.

For sure that is not the Mercator projection - it is a cylindrical projection and northern latitudes are blown up relative to southern latitudes (Greenland is the size of South American).

It looks like either a conic or a planar projection, maybe. Oh well, I was just curious. Don't worry about it.
