I am currently working my way through T4(self optimizing extractors, Robotic Repairs, Multi Role starships). I have defeated the hive and now control a bunch of former pirate ships. I have 16 artifacts, including the constitution crystal.

I have T5 exploration (70 / Comprehensive exploration).

I have no ancient guardian research, no intact ancient guardian ruins, and precisely one research base with ancient knowledge around a destroyed guardian citadel. Also no Shakturi virus research.

There are five ancient guardian ruins (Desolate Station, Moray Abyss, Decaying Catacombs, Deteriorating Tomb) but they are not in my space. I found a total of 5 which were not ruined, but none close to me.

This has happened over several games now under 1.3.0.4

I play on a 1500 star map.

I used to get an average of 3 per game to research.

Is this wad, a bug, or the RNG messing with me?

Did you get ancient guardians in 1.3.0.3?

I think it is RNG. In my latest game, at the time of the rift strider invasion in 3 locations, I looked though known ruins with research bonuses and found 8 intact and 5 ruined vaults with ancient knowledge. In my last game it was 5 intact and 6 ruins. I also got all 5 research options and artifacts.

There is a difference between the regular Ancient Guardian Vaults that trigger the research in Ancient Knowledge and the Ancient Guardian Vaults from the Shakturi Storyline, No RNG, the Guardian Vaults for Shakturi line triggers after the Shakturi World Ship arrives with a delay of 1000 secs/clicks = 1000 days
