I am picking this game back up. I trying to re-learn how to do an amphibious landing. Is this scenario a good one to "learn" with? I'm also finding that I need to build a lot of oilers. I place the transports next to the beach hex, toddle D , and then execute the landings on several beach hexes.
My carrier TF is doing double duty. The DDs supply the beachhead but the Marines effectiveness remains low.

What am I missing? Thanks.

Cutting off their supply, land with enough force, using naval ships to support the invasions being next to the attack hex.
