Stal to Berlin Campaign: Anyone playing?

Howdy! I am back playing this game after a few years off, and I have a question: Is anyone playing the Stal to Berlin campaign?

I was interested in this one back in 2021, and even did a brief AAR: https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopi ... 3#p4852043. Early-on, I took a game into 1944 vs. Loki (who I don't think is around any more)

Anyway, is anyone actually playing that scenario multi-player? Just curious

It's a fun opening, trying to re-create the Kessel, and the Germans doing what they can to stem the crisis. After winter it does turn into grinding in 1943 IIRC, because most Axis players aren't going to re-create Zitadelle

I have continued to play this one over and over in order to save the Sixth Army. Great scenario.

Ya, fun scenario. Wish I continued that one but as always something seems to come up for me. :(

Is it possible to extract most of the Sixth Army?

Is it possible to extract the 6th Army?

Against a good Soviet opponent, I don't think so. The southern arm of the Soviet pincer through 4th Panzer Army is not particularly strong, so there is a weak point there, but there aren't alot of nearby reserves to attack immediately....takes a turn or two to get a force together. The Northern Pincer is strong and can't be beaten.

Against the AI, sure......you can get everyone out

One thing I noticed playing it....there's a fair amount of supply in the Kessel, enough that you don't really need to fly much in. That still doesn't prevent it from collapsing.

Supplies when ISOLATED do not doe wat they do when not ISOLATED. Leaders will simply not roll/fail rolls no matter how much freight there is or how much you fly in (at least that's my observation).
All you can do is fly in 500tons (no matter the pocket's size) and this will remove the "/2" math to Divisional CVs.
