In the attached scenario, a strike mission has been planned with two refueling stops. Expected behavior: the aircraft fly to the first refueling stop, refuel to max, fly to the second, refuel to max, fly to the target, drop weapons, turn around, fly back to the second stop, refuel to max, fly back to the first stop, refuel to max, RTB.

Actual behavior: when arriving at the second refueling stop, the aircraft all turn around to the much more distant tankers ("Tankers 1" mission). They end up ditching eventually.

Set the tanker choice to any tanker within 100nm range of the receiver and the mission ran perfectly.

When I do that (as in this attached scenario), the aircraft all RTB after the first tanker, which seems to be yet another issue. Are we on the same build (1676, i.e. v1.08 stable)?

I ran it on 1674. Just finished upgrading to 1676. Will try it again.

Ran it again in 1676 and you are correct. It RTBs as soon as it refuels.

btw, a true workaround I have used before when confronted with AAR issues is using the flight planner to force refueling with tankers. Its more work than just setting a few configs, but typically guarantees AAR refueling happens where and when you want it.

You can take a look at the flight plan in the posted scenario; it already uses explicit refueling points.

That is always a prudent strategy. I liken it to pre-booking a taxi ride vs. searching for an available cab for immediate use.
