message to opponent in multiplayer

It seems that you can message you opponent in multiplayer. There is a small envelope on the reports icon, but I cannot see the message (if any) Any thoughts? How should it look like?

I did not take it away. Works as always.

Yes, I was just not aware how it works as always. :) (the little envelope icon is still there even if there is no new message)

It should leave. Clear the message. It's been a while since I looked at the PBEM. It's a pain to setup for myself.
