Okay, this is a remake of the Succubus I posted back in 1.4 times, exchanging the twin plasmas with the more manageable CLG's.

Any comments on the machine are appreciated.

Drop the heat regs by 1 level, and cover those 5 locations with millenia, you'll end up with with a better cooling rate of -3.45C/Sec and you'll have just enough left over to raise the armor in the LoT to 41. (only place it would fit and be useful) Everything else stays exactly the same.

The new improved millenia armor absolutly rocks in alot of situations!


hmmm... btw. your pinboard printout is slightly different from the download, the download had 40 armor pts in all the torsos. and a DCS instead of a shield. Looks like you were trying out different designs :)

Make sure you run a new 'pinboard' after you change anything, that creates a new printout. If that don't work.... somethings broke

The engine is a little short for both CLGs to recycle at the same time when running.

This will change its role completely. Was this intended. Twin plasma is a a great choice if you try to keep range, twin CLG is a completely different design with the same name ?

I referred to it as a remake since the basic weapon layout and subsystems were quite similar to the old Succubus. The role shifted, though not that much; in 1.4, I used the plasma cannons primarily because of the high damage value. The additional range was nice, but not the primary reason for the choice. It was mainly the desire to give my jock something that would hit hard (he was specialized on energy and unguided missiles). It did, despite the shortcomings. Not the be-all end-all design everybody dreams of, but a working heavy energy titan.

I did change the design's name to reflect the changes. I think I would have kept the original name if I had merely ported it over. For now, I'm dabbling into cannon/energy combos, as I am not too fond of missiles anymore in general (though I admit the GME is one mean bruiser), and started to become wary of the enormous requirements needed to keep an energy gun operative over a longer term.

Try it out. Give it a whirl. Use it for target practice. I care little, but I spent so much time using the darn thing that I've grown attached to it, despite the flaws.

With that one completed, I will turn vision forwards and try to come up with a better design. And I already have a few ideas...

I think its a very soild short/mid range design, it's a public titan in my database now :) Not alot of heavies with CLGs (One of my fav weapons)

and as far as the engine goes.. just fire the 2 CLGs out of sync (a good practice anyway due to heat to-hit mods) and they can recycle at full speed while running... now if you add in the Tesla.... thats another story... :)

Well, if you have recycled weapons and are waiting on move, then a couple extra secs to dual recycle is offset by the time you have those recycled weapon setting there fully charged while they're waiting on move :)

Heat mods and CLGs, sure happens all the time, heat comes from alot of sources. if your floating around a cutoff point say yellow/red (just an example) fire the 1st CLG in yellow putting you just barely into red, now if you fire the other CLG it will have the red mod instead of the yellow. If you wait a few secs and alternate fire the 2nd CLG will now fire at yellow mods. Might be surprised how long you sorta 'float' at a cut off this way. Obviously the effect is more likely to happen with higher heat weapons, but it still happens with CLGs

Almost immediately after VB added Fist to the official list of titans I started playing around with the design some more. I feel perfectly justified in this as it was my design in the first place :)
I replaced the saws with axes, but left the tesla alone. I haven't fallen in love with the vibra claw yet, but I do like it.
I beefed the armor also. Also removed ECM; put in a better scanner. I use this version in my squad.

PrinceCorrin I like the new design, it adds a dual wielding axe titan into my database and the beefy armor makes it a real walking rock. Just a quick design question, With the loss of ECM you could have reduced the engine by a level, but you didn't. Does the extra PU now generated help more then anything the wieght trade off could have given you? Just curious.

Indeed. The tesla reloads much faster. And given the fact the pinboard does not seem to calculate running, and swiveling into the PUs needed, I find that having an engine one size too large in an energy weapon titan is often a very good idea. And while ECM is useful, it would shut off every time I ran and recycled my weapon at the same time with a smaller engine, so what would be the point?

The Fist in the database has engine 6, which is enough to reload the tesla as quick as possible, and run and swivel. PC's refit has engine 5.

The pinboard *does* count run. Maybe you're not counting some other component?

edit: ECM doesn't shut off because of weapon recycle. ECMs are powered before weapons. Weapons might recycle slower because of an active ECM, but this is not the case.

Try 2 CLG + 3 GME. Your enemies are screwed shields up or shields down.

Was just building it and realised something. This one could use a H2 chassis for +2 tons and +5% handling, or even H1 for +4 tons and same handling. The chassis are slower, but internal structure doesn't change that much - especilly for H1.


Here's the H1 version. Increased LS to 3, ECM to 3, armor by a couple of pts. Other options would be jump, and even engine with some tweaking.
Designer's choice. LMK what you think.
