List of exploits

Is there a list of exploits for multiplayer? I mean what should NOT be abused in a multiplayer game so one does not have an unfair advantage?

I give an example of such exploit: surface fleets should not be surrounded by subs on the high seas because then the surface fleets cannot be touched.

Or should the players agree at the beginning and if not then everything is permitted?
EDIT: here I list the supposed exploits mentioned below so it can be used as a reference when starting a game.


  • Subs surround your own surface fleet for protection
  • Diplomacy
  • Finns should not enter Winter War gains of USSR until at war with Axis
  • Limited number of paratroops

Diplomacy should be turned off
and the sub surround is the only issue that I know of.
As a rule I would say a player can't build more than 2 paratroopers. I have seen in games where players build 6-8 paras and surround London which is a supply source. Of course players should keep a reserve unit next to it for attacks but...

The paratrooper issue was a big problem in World in Flames at certain points on the map. If someone wanted to they could build all the paras hide them on the map. then fly over the interceptors and drop them on a key hex chopping off supply knocking out an entire front.

You should also have an understanding with you opponent that the Fins will not enter the Soviet occupied Finnish hexes before the war. Right now they can as no fix has been found yet. However, in my experience most Axis players will respect that. Of course, the Soviet could block that exploit by putting more troops there, but as they are short of that in1941, it is asking a lot of them.

I forgot about the Fins issue. That is something I can't change. Creating this game was a real challenge with all the nuances. It was my first game.

Raider subs parking on invasion hexes near
- Scapa Flow
- Azores
- or anywhere the enemy has low recon
because it is virtually impossible to hit the sub let alone kill it.

Not really if you do not have land based air units nearby.

In a game I tried to kill one sub parking over the landing hex of the Azores. Almost the entire UK/US fleet was there, all DDs and CVs were there and the most I could manage was 2 hits. The sub was replaced with another full health sub next turn and I could not land. I surrounded the sub on 5 sides with DDs attacking and 4 CVs were trying to bomb.

Sometimes I cannot even find the sub. I pm you with the screenshot and details.
