HD failed. How to reinstall game? Please help

Hello I have this Pacific game and the American Civil War game too. I installed both on my G drive and it failed completely and the computer can't even notice it when I plug G drive in (USB style).
My problem is I cannot uninstall both games so my computer assumes they are still installed on G drive and I get an error "not enough disk space" when I try to install these games on my F drive which is working fine but the computer won't let me redirect the install to the F drive. I am guessing it is the registry that makes my computer think those games are still installed?
How can I remove the last remnants of those 2 games without the G drive connected? Please help. I wonder if a registry cleaner software can remove it? I have never used one of those.
I like these Strategic Command games very much, especially this Pacific game which I played a bit before the HD failure. The naval battles were mutual devastation.
NOTE: it was a Western Digital drive that failed. I need to buy a better brand next time.
