DaBabes question

I've been playing DaBigBabes scen 29 for quite some time and just noticed that the 503rd Parachute Regiment has 54 US AmphSupt squads instead of Para squads (game has reached Jan '45). Does anyone know the rationale behind this?

If the Wikipedia entry for the 503rd Parachute Regiment is to be believed, the unit participated in both airborne and amphibious operations. Different battalions were added or reassigned, including one that was sent to Britain.
Read the Wikipedia entry or get the actual unit history from the Army for more info. Incidentally, this unit participated in the airborne liberation of Corregidor. Not sure why, however, it would be assigned only amphibious squads and no para squads.

I had read it before I posted the question. Amphibious Support squads are not assault infantry, their purpose is to assist unloading landing craft. In DaBabes scenarios they are used in Boat and Shore Engineer Battalions. I don't see any reason for them to be in a parachute regiment.

I don't see anything wrong in the editor for DBB scen 29 and this unit, neither in the locations tab (TOE) nor the devices tab.
The TOE goes from 54 to 81 para squads on 430801 and the initial device 1106 "US Para Squad" upgrades to "US Para Squad 44" in 4408 and nothing further.
To me it looks like a glitch ion your particular game, Brad.

I vaguely recall the 503d having amphib squads in its TO&E but from many, many years ago, possibly from the original WITP. The 503d in the DaBabes scenario I use has para squads; for my (altered DaBabes) mod I altered the regiment's TO&E to upgrade it to a regimental combat team by adding a company's worth of combat engineers and a battalion of 75mm pack howitzers - off the top of my head, I believe this all took effect (historically) in Nov '44.

Okay, thanks. I see no way to fix it, and since I have invested years of gameplay into this campaign I'll just have to live with it. The 503rd has now become an air dropped Boat & Shore Engineer unit. C'est la vie...
