building IJN ships for Modders

What happens if you add to many ships in the build que for Japan? I want to say, it depends on how many shipyards points, If you have enough points, you can build them. If you don't then only some can be built. Am I correct or way off?

You are correct Sir.
TOO MANY leads to sporadic building and EVERYTHING falls behind. In several of my Mods, I purposely have too much in the Que so the player gets the option to decide what they want to build. Works pretty well and takes a Japanese player who is paying attention.
Do you wanna build the two late-war Yamatos OR do you want to build ALL of the late-war carriers??? How about 1 Yamato and a few CVs??? How about never get the CVs but gain the Yamatos??!! Tends to be a lot of fun...

To me, the ability to stop, halt or accelerate shipbuilding is undoubtedly the most powerful tool the Jap player has to impact the war in the long term. A/C manipulation is important, thus a close second, but ship building, or not, has a bigger impact on the economy.

True but a big shame that the build queue is missing many ships cancelled related to Midway or other events.
I would like to add in at least 1 Taihō CV, 2 Ibuki CAs, 1 Niyodo CL, 20 Akizuki DD and 19 Yūgumo DD.

Do it.
I have within my Mods.
You can easily put into the Editor all those ships and make the Japanese player CHOOSE what to build...

I will when I have my list ready, other examples are the 2
Akashi class AR.
Have to also give something for the Allies as emergency reinforcements at minimum, for example CV-4 to the Indian Ocean just as Churchill requested several times if Japan pushes to India.
When would have
Shinano been completed if built as a BB?
Can Japan have the
Taiho class CVs renamed by player like the
Essex class or is that limited by code to reinforcements?
Can completed ships appear with weapons in damaged state from the shipyard?
