Scenario Generator QOL suggestions

Post by CTKnudsen »

I will preface all of this by expressing how much I am enjoying this game! It's amazing, and I am having great fun.

I also am no programmer, and have no idea how anything works under the hood, so my suggestions may only be so much wishful thinking, and that's fine.

The scenario generator is great, but some tweaks would make it even better.

1. It would be amazing if when selecting a scenario space from within the "operational" maps, one could adjust the orientation of the play area. Many important terrain features do not conform to cardinal point oriented map spaces. So if I want to depict an advance along a MSR or valley, it would be helpful to be able to tilt the selection space to better reflect what I want the main axis of attack to be. No issue with having the setup areas, etc, orient to the "sides" of the map once the "tilt" is determined, but it'd be nice to be able to deviate from cardinal directions when choosing the ground.

2. It is not intuitive to select point totals in a separate screen that is previous to the force selection screen. I want to build scenarios based on OOBs that I can go out and research, but if I don't know how many points say a Soviet armoured regiment with reasonable support is going to cost, then I have to wildly overestimate on the point totals, go in and build the force, note how much it costs, and then restart the process, selecting the appropriate cost total and building the battle again, which is totally unintuitve. Would it be possible to adjust the scenario point totals (and percentages) from the purchase screen? or...

3. It would be great if in addition to "restart", there were a "back" button on each scenario generation screen. Maybe I decide I want the scenario defenders to be dug in after all - it would be great to just go back a few screens instead of having to go back through the whole process. At least we can save settings as we go, but it seems a lot more complicated than just backing up a screen or two.

Anyways, thanks so much for this great game!
