Benefits of Task Pools & Packages over standard Msns?

I've been playing around with Task Pools and, unless I'm using them wrong (I most probably am), after watching P Gatcomb's YT video on the subject, I don't really see any benefits other than as an organisational tool. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOMcIVf ... l=PGatcomb)

I was hoping that I could do the following:
Option 1 (scen attached):
1 - Create a Task Pool (TP), named CAPs, before then assigning F/A-18Es and Fs to it.
2 - Create two CAP Packages within the TP, N CAP and S CAP.
3 - The TP would then pull aircraft as required into the Packages and launch them, meaning that I have coverage in both CAPs zones from the same pool of jets. Unfortunately, without then specifically assigning the Super Hornets to a Package (the same way one would for standard Missions), the don't launch.

Option 2:
1 - Create a Task Pool (TP), named Task Pool - Baghdad, assigning MiG-23s to it.
2 - Create two CAP Packages, CAP - Baghdad 1 and CAP - Baghdad 2.
3 - Set the CAP - Baghdad 1 Package to take-off at 19/04:01:00Z and end at 19/15:00:00Z.
4 - Set the CAP - Baghdad 2 Package to take-off at 20/04:01:00Z and end at 20/15:00:00Z. The idea here being that the MiG-23s won't operate in the hours of darkness (apparently Iraqi pilots in the Gulf War had limited night flying competencies; while in the DB their A2A loadout allows them to fly at night, I don't want them to). As above, the jets will not launch.

Is there any way using Task Pools that I can set up these situations without LUA?

How can you find out the time of sunrise/sunset (of the next/same day) during the game?

Task Pools and Packages are there strictly for user organization. They serve no other purpose. I find them tedious to use, prefer to organize my missions using mission names.

Same here! But I still struggle each time with the decision of whether to organize missions first by naming type and then by "location" or vice versa (for example "Sicily - CAP" or "CAP - Sicily") #LOL

The only time I may use them are in scenarios where there are aircraft spread around an entire theater. The advantage being that when creating packages you only see the aircraft assigned to the parent task pool. I’ve also used them on occasion for AI missions that are on the player side.

This reflects my experiences, I don't find them particularly more useful over standard Missions, but maybe I'm not as organised as some players like to be. I was worrying that I was missing one of their key features, but apparently not.

I'll be honest, I usually take educated guesses. I'm not sure what baseline CMO uses for sunrise/sunset times and whether these change depending on the season, geographical location etc. Maybe one of the Devs can enlighten us.

I use them in larger scenarios with a couple similar groups wit similar mission sets, e.g. there is one in Northern Inferno with one Carrier Group and two Amphibious Groups. To me it seems easier to sort the aircraft for each groups ASW patrol out. If the pool ist defined only the aircraft of the regarding pool are shown. Defining a pool are well invested time in this case.
