Merchants

Is there a way to prevent the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway giving merchants to UK but also conquer them as Axis? In other words somehow prevent the scripted events that give benefits to the UK? (I don't mean modding, but in game solution?)

No that is historically what happened.

E.g. there are two event that seem to be contradicting each other:
"Norwegian merchant marine couldn't escape to the UK through the German blockade of the Baltic Sea. Germany gains 7 merchant marine."
"The UK concludes a lease agreement for Norwegian tankers 20 are added to the UK merchant marine"
And there is also one (that I cannot find) that gives 38 merchants to UK.
I cannot seem to trigger the first one but I have seen it happen against me.

i get why you are saying they are contradictory
but these are two separate events
one the UK gains MM
one the Germans gain MM
both occurred in my most recent game

Yes, recently both happened to me, as well. So I guess no way to prevent the UK from getting merchants. Thank you for the inputs.
