AGM-114L Hellfire will not auto-fire from AH-64D (auto allocation ignored)

Description
In the attached test scenario the AH-64D refuses to automatically fire the AGM-114L at valid targets. Multiple WRA configurations were tried, and in the Weapon Allocation panel the missile is explicitly allowed for automatic firing. If I manually assign the shot in that panel, the weapon launches immediately—so the platform, weapon, range, and geometry are all valid.

To isolate the behaviour and avoid fallbacks to other variants, I removed all AGM-114K from the loadout; only AGM-114L rounds are carried.

The helicopters are marked Engaged Offensive, so they should prosecute with appropriate weapons, but they do not auto-shoot the AGM-114L.

I suspect a database issue may be blocking auto allocation: the relevant DB entry shows a malformed target-altitude line reading “n/a16000 ft AGL n/a4876.8 m AGL”. Other AGM-114 variants do not show this field and auto-fire normally in the same setup.

Always (100% reproducible in the attached scenario)

Steps to Reproduce

1. Load AGM-114L Pre-Engagement.scen.
2. Confirm the AH-64D loadout contains only AGM-114L (all AGM-114K removed).
3. Verify the helo is Engaged Offensive against a valid target within range.
4. Open Weapon Allocation and confirm AGM-114L is allowed for automatic firing (WRA permissive).
5. Run the sim: observe no automatic launch.
6. Manually assign the AGM-114L in Weapon Allocation: the missile fires immediately.

Additional Notes
• Other Hellfire variants auto-fire correctly under identical conditions.
• The malformed target-altitude field may be preventing the AGM-114L from passing the auto-allocation checks.
• Removing AGM-114K ensures the issue cannot be masked by auto-selection of another variant.

It works if Anti Surface SAMs is changed to Yes.

No idea if this is WAD

Hmm, perhaps the engine internally classifies it as a SAM because of its ability to target air targets? But that's pure speculation.

Could be that because the K variant is not anti-air.

Nikel is right, since the weapon can target both, is probably class as SAM internally

I think I can work with it now that I know a workaround. The question is, does this qualify as a WAD?

I don't think this is WAD based on the closing comment when anti-air capability was added from my DB ticket.

"The AGM/RGM/MGM-114Ls are now capable of hitting air targets below 16000ft and <175kts (this will put helicopters and slow-flying aircraft in their envelope but exclude most everything else), albeit with only a 75% PoK. By default their WRA is set to "Do not use weapon against this target type" so players will have to "opt-in" to engaging air targets with these weapons."
